Interviews Today, we advise you on a common interview question that seems deceptively simple: Can you describe your current or most recent position?
Discuss an activity, interest, experience, or achievement in your life this could be a book, movie, or an activity or experience at work, home, or school that has been particularly meaningful to you.
I don't particularly care what you write this on as long as it is college level and is appropriate for applying to college. The best topic I could think of for this paper would be about how since I am majoring in nursing--that I recently volunteered at XXX Hospital for a few months to get an idea of what career I wanted to do and that I volunteered at a day care center for three years, so that shows i'm a social and friendly person.
If you could also incorprate that i will probably go further and get a masters or doctorate degree. Actually, the purpose of this activity was twofold, both to use my time for assisting the sick and disabled, and to try a hand at working in a medical environment.
Both purposes were successfully fulfilled. I really enjoyed seeing that even with my limited knowledge I was able to make a difference in the daily routine of the hospital.
My best reward was the grateful smiles of the patients whom I could entertain with my personal stories and divert from the depressing daily reality. As for myself, I would say that these people were also a real support for me as we developed a very friendly relationship that allowed me to share the everyday happenings of my life with these people and make them feel important through giving advice on different issues.
In addition, I realized that a medical profession is the best career I could dream of, so comfortably I felt in these surroundings. XXX Hospital was not my first experience in volunteering activities. Previously, I worked at a day care center for three years, which allowed me to help many people and make many friendly acquaintances.
Coming there, I felt needed because there were so many things for me to do, and people kept coming and asking for assistance. Even being that busy, I was rarely tired since I was always rewarded with sincere words of gratitude that made my work meaningful.
Although my path has taken a different direction, I occasionally drop by at this center to check how things are going with them. Volunteering in the medical field was more exciting as it gave me some insights into the mechanics of the treatment process, decision-making by doctors, things that evoke my intense interest.
My experience at XXX Hospital convinced me that I have to follow my desire to focus my career on nursing and after receiving a bachelor's degree proceed to the master's or doctoral level.Significant experience; Essay for foreign student application; Applied psychology application; Home > Sample essays > My meaningful experience.
